Amazing.
I had to ask for all my dances, too. Except my JR year when I had a boyfriend... who didn't go to my school. I often wondered if that is why no one asked. Because I had a BF.
But, then you grow up, and life goes on, doesn't it?Jillnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8630979976490932348.post-36130656938881624222011-04-01T19:16:44.669-06:002011-04-01T19:16:44.669-06:00bubble skirts rocked!

I guess I shouldn't be so amased at your quiling skills, you have always been a wiz at the sewing machine and everything you do. You have so much talent and artistic ability. Now, the style is to look like you just got out of bed, or you just hiked over the himalayas. Loved your photos. And, your hair. I'll have to dig out some of mine, but they aren't nearly as satiny and fancy.

A lovely memory surfaced of being asked to homecoming (or prom, I forget which). He said romantically, "I already asked so-and-so and she said no, and then I asked someone else and they said no, so will you go with me?" Yeah I was #3 on the list, high school dances and all that drama, not so fun.SueWishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08711512451789269348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8630979976490932348.post-55199332352431184432011-03-31T07:57:14.155-06:002011-03-31T07:57:14.155-06:00I actually have some of that blue satin in the bot...I actually have some of that blue satin in the bottom of a sewing drawer. With a few girl friends. Never danced with a boy. I was really really introverted.

It's funny the only time I ever got asked to be a girlfriend I was in 5th grade. It was by a boy I didn't like. I told him no, my grandma would kill me. I guess I jinxed myself or something. Fun to see the styles and hairdos of that era again (but I hope big hair and poufy dresses don't come back in style anytime soon).

I went to the homecoming dance stag (with a couple other girls) as a freshman. Awkward. I never got asked to anything in high school, but I figured it was because I was a head taller than most of the boys. Meh, their loss. I asked my boyfriend, (who had graduated the year before) if he would go with me, which he did. Perfect timing, because we started dating 3 weeks before prom. 3 months later I graduated, joined the military and moved on with my life. Forward about 10 years later, that prom dress got cut up and resewn for some play my daughter was in, in elementary school. I am sure some of it is still floating around this house somewhere.Ann Marie @ 16 Muddy Feethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18043510561974011878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8630979976490932348.post-9944005696095970752011-03-30T19:35:36.002-06:002011-03-30T19:35:36.002-06:00OMG!! My daughter and her boyfriend will be attending their junior prom in a month, so this has been a really fun post to peruse. Thanks for sharing!
