Today is my three-year blog-aversary. In a few days I will turn 40. In honor of the occasion, I've given up dairy!
Wait. That's not right.
I must be getting forgetful in my old age.
I actually did give up dairy, but that's not my idea of a celebration.
Let's try again.
In honor of the occasion, I'm having a giveaway. That's what bloggy peeps do to celebrate, right? I'm having four days of giveaways; one giveaway for each decade I've been knocking about the planet. How does that sound?
Let's get right to it.
Today's giveaway is a little quilter's care package, but you probably guessed that already .
Up for grabs today:
• A Sew Taxi {a nifty little tool case which contains 12 tools: thread cutter, magnifying glass, seam ripper, piercing punch, punch needle, stuffing tool, knit picker, tweezers, safety pin, measuring tape, needle threader, long needle threader}
• A row marking kit {for after you've laid out your quilt, but want to stack your rows for easy transport to your machine or storage for later}
• A package of Schmetz size 80/12 universal machine needles
• An 876-yard spool of Gutterman 100% cotton 50-weight thread
• A three ounce misting bottle filled with Magic Starch {note: the color of the misting bottle you receive may vary}.
The Fine Print:

• You can enter each day's giveaway only once.
• Non-blogging/non-Google users and international entrants are welcome.
• If you do not have a Google account, use the name/url {url optional} commenting option and make sure you leave your e-mail in your comment in the following format: address (at) domain name (dot) com.

• Duplicate comments will be deleted. Comment moderation is on, so don't panic when your comment doesn't show up. I'm notified of new comments and will approve them periodically each day, after which they'll show up on the post.
• The giveaway will close at 10:00 pm {MST} on Friday, January 18th. Winner will be chosen by random drawing and notified by e-mail and announced here by noon on January 19th.
Good luck!

I love my Fiskars scissors sharpener. I have a small one for my small scissors, and a large table top one for my larger scissors. Gotta keep those babies sharp to make our lives easier.
ReplyDeleteI love my rotery cutter!! I've had the best time getting my squares straight!
ReplyDeleteOh and my embrodery machine!
Happy blog anniversary! Those three years flew by in a hurry, didn't they? And your big 4-0 birthday in four days?! Wow, what an exciting week, and thank you for the generous giveaway! I hope your family really spoils you, and in the very least, make time for yourself to do something fun!
ReplyDeleteTools, eh? I was going to say my seam ripper, because it's pretty handy, but it's not a "favorite" really. So I will say my plain-jane rotary cutter. Where would we be without them? (Rhetorical question, of course, because I am older than you by we won't say how much, and I do remember life before rotary cutters!)
My favorite tool since I bought it is the June Taylor Shape Cut ruler. You know, the big square one with all the slots cut into it! It's the best dang thing! I use it every day! It takes about 1/10th of the time to cut a gazillion squares or strips now! I love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Birthday! Woohoo! 40! You're rockin' it! :o)
And why no dairy? Issues?, or just deciding not to? I'm lactose intolerant, so I KNOW the issues dairy can give. If that's the reason, I have tons of good ideas for substitutions if you need them. Just let me know!
Congratulations on your 3rd blog anniversary and a very big Happy Birthday Elizabeth. I don't know if you would call it a favourite tool but where would we be without the quick up-pick! Mine certainly gets a lot of use! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love my new-to-me vintage Singer 15-91 sewing machine. A Christmas gift from my hubby :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite tools lately, oddly, is a glue stick. I used it a lot while making stockings for Christmas and it is now in my standard kit.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your milestone! My favorite tool is my lighted seam ripper. I guess I do a lot of unsewing!

Happy birthday and blog anniversary! I got a Sewline Gift Set and it is totally my favorite tool right now. I get frustrated with marking tools sometimes, but they are working out great so far!
ReplyDeleteI love my specialty quilting rulers - definitely want to get some more :)
ReplyDeleteI like my little rubbery awl. Not sure what brand it is, but I use it to hold onto the fabric when I start and stop seams, as my fabric always wants to go down toward the bobbin.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary E! I always enjoy reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for your actual birthday...shouldnt we be giving you presents instead of vice versa? I hope you have a wonderful birthday no matter how you decide to celebrate. My 40th is a little hazy because it was a number of years ago.
My favourite sewing tool are my flower head extra long pins. Did you know you can usually sew right over those suckers with no side effects . Note I said “usually”.

ReplyDeleteIt has to be my rotary cutter.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and Blogiversary! My favorite new toy is my little cheap bias tape maker. It works so good. I love it! Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool is my surgical seam ripper. Congrats on 3 yrs blogging and your special birthday. Enjoy! ;-> Toni Anne
ReplyDeleteI got a circle cutting ruler for my birthday last year and it is the handiest thing! I never thought I needed to be making circles, but it sure has been a lifesaver. :-) Congrat's on the big 4-0!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fun to have another year go by. I hit that 40 mark a few years back and it was not so bad even if my wife gave me black baloons and all at the office (she turns 40 this year maybe payback is due) Last year I started quilting and your giveaway was the first I ever entered. Its great to be around yet another year for it.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite tool is a little magnetic sheep which I can attach to my work and holds my needle when I have to finish. I have a lot of interuptions in our house, lol! And since I have this, I am not searching for my needles anymore.
ReplyDeleteWish you another creative and happy bloggy year.
Happy Birthday!
