Sew Inspired

Marge, you're as pretty as Princess Leia and as smart as Yoda.
–Homer Simpson

Hey, y'all! I'm guest posting for Vicki over at Sew Inspired today. Hers was one of the first blogs I started following, almost 2 years ago. I instantly fell in love with her adorable chickens {more chickens here; tutorial here}, and was completely floored with her Y2K watercolor quilt. She was in Utah in the spring of 2010 and entered it at the annual quilt show hosted here in Springville, where I got to see it up close and personal. Beautiful, no?

I got to meet Vicki in person last summer at Sew & Tell live {hosted by AmyLouWho}. It was so fun to finally meet in person! It was like we were old friends. It is so nice to meet blog friends who are just as nice in person as they are on the 'net.
Left to right: Amy {of Diary of a Quilter}, Amy {of Vintage Fern}, Erin {of Two More Seconds}, Leigh {of Leedle Deedle Quilts}, Me, Vicki {of Sew Inspired}, Pink {of pinksuedeshoe} and Amy {of amylouwho}.

This month, Vicki is focusing on free-motion quilting. She will have a guest poster each Thursday and throughout the month she will be posting tips and tricks. She's also got a challenge and prizes. The challenge is to finish a free-motion project and then link up at the end of January. Those who finish the challenge will be entered in a drawing for one of a handful of really great prizes {we're talking fabric, here people}. Head on over and check it out!

You are tempting me to join yet another FMQ-along! I left a comment on Vicki's blog for you. What a beautiful watercolor quilt!

I think FMQ is the big thing for this year, a lot of quilters are jumping on the band wagon. I can't decide which ones to do....

You are too kind. :) I'm glad we were finally able to meet! (Even though I didn't ever blog about it.) I hope that lots and lots of people do more and more free motion quilting and that will make all the beautiful quilts out there even better!
