My 100th post came really fast and I wasn't ready for a giveaway. At the time, I hinted at a bribe-new-readers type of giveaway at some random post like 137, but that came and went and so did 164. In the meantime I gave away some milk glass serving plates of my grandmother's and some sleep masks for National Pink Day. But those weren't serious attempts at luring in new readers. Those were just for fun.
About the time that I hit post 187 I realized that if I wanted to do a giveaway for a special blogging event, I'd better hurry and get it together because post 200 was just around the corner. I've actually been planning to make this fun little goodie since I realized that you could
Without further ado, I present to you my 200th Post Giveaway. I'm giving away this cute little Abbey Bag pincushion, specially made by me. {There are more specifics about the pincushion here.}
Here's how my giveaway works:
Preamble: This pincushion is very girlie. The fabric has women on it saying things like, I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh? and I told him it was unwise to make me choose between him and my fabrics . . . I will miss him though. I know that there are men who to like quilt {I follow several of your blogs} and so not to exclude the men, in the event that one of our quilting brothers enters and wins my giveaway, I will make a pincushion in more masculine colors. Keep in mind, the pincushion is gathered for cuteness and sits on top of a flower {which can't be left off because of the way the whole thing is put together} and the bag is all puffy and cute. So, it is still going to come out looking pretty, well, girlie. But I've turned this over in my mind quite a bit and that is the best solution I can come up with.
You do not have to have a Blogger account or blog to enter my giveaway. However, if you are using the anonymous posting option, please leave your first name and e-mail address in the following form: address @ domain name (dot) com. Anonymous posts with no contact information will be deleted.
The giveaway will be open until 11:59 pm {MDST} on Tuesday, July 27. I'll close the comments at that time and draw and post the winner by noon {MDST} on Wednesday, July 28.
Please leave a separate comment for each entry. Each person is allowed up to four entries.
1. Comment: leave a comment on this post. You can comment about anything {the weather, your favorite sports team, your kids, how you got engaged} but if you're stuck for something to say, I'd love to hear about your favorite sewing project. Leave me a link and I'll check it out.
2. Following: If you're already a follower of my blog, leave me a comment saying so. If you're new, become a follower of my blog {scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find it} and then leave me a comment. {Editor's Note: If you're new here, please have a look around before you commit to following me just for a chance to win a pincushion. Read some of my other posts, know that I'm a little weird, I tend to ramble on, I'm not always super funny and although I try to keep religion contained to my Sunday posts sometimes it leaks out on other days. It is just who I am. And sharing who I am is part of my blogging process.}
3. Blog: Blog about my giveaway and then leave a comment with a link to your post. I'll come and check you out!
4. Button: Add my little button {thank you, Iris!} to your sidebar and then leave a comment with a link to your blog. If you already have my button, let me know in a comment.
Good luck and let the fun begin!

We have been having a very rainy summer so far. We had tons of snow, and now all the rain is really causing problems for the farmers in SW Iowa. Isn't this a boring post?
So, quick question for you, who did the drawings of your children in the sidebar. Because they are seriously awesome. And I love this little bag. If I don't win I might just have to make another! Also, Creamie LOVES the eyemask, she drapes it over her head every morning (along with one or two of my bra's) and walks around like she's the Queen of Sheeba.
Just found your blog and had a look around

My son complained last night because there were fabric and thread snips on our carpeted staircase leading from my sewing room to the upstairs. I really need that Abbey Bag.
I usually don't follow blogs I just bookmark them and go through the list every night and spend hours reading them. But after I saw your Twilight quilt I decided to follow. I sure don't want to lose this blog. Can't wait to see the finished quilt and go back and catch up on your archives.
Ooh, my favorite sewing saying is when life hands you scraps make a quilt.Thats a good saying! yay!!!

Thanks for a great giveaway, it is very cute!
I became a follower on your blog, weird makes things interesting!
well...got engaged on the way home from visiting my grandma in spokane. didn't want to appear too anxious, so every time we'd get near a jeweler at the mall, i'd run off to some other store and sweet guy would follow!! finally said yes about cle elum on I-90. Because of all of that, I had to drive to Utah from Seattle to actually get my ring--crazy girl, eh? Anyway...that was over 40 years ago, so guess it took. and my favorite sewing was making the blessing gown for my first girlie girl (granddaughter) 12 years ago, and then a similar one 4 years ago for the second of her twin sisters to wear. now i'm working on a quilt for their newest little cousin--another girl. blessed to have four girlie girls and four boyly boys!!
LOVE the name elizabeth, too. it's the middle name of many of my family. my grandmother's name, many, many great grandmother's names on both sides of my family and in my husband's family. it's also one of my favorites for the beautiful story in the bible. i can't for the life of me figure out how to grab someone's binkie!! i would love for you to come visit my site--ladybug lovelies names for two of my favorite things, ladybugs and hearts. have a great day!
Well, I quilt yet don't have a pin cushion. So.... this prize would be most helpful - and give me a place to put "the needles" too. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway to celebrate your blog milestone.
I don't sew all that much, and I'm not sure if it would be fair of me to win since you told me to look on your blog. But the bag sure is cute!
Love you! Your ten-years younger twin.
Please include me in the drawing. This pincushion looks very handy(and cute!)
I just became a follower of your blog. Please come and join mine-I am new to the blogging world. I have read blogs for years, but I just started my own. I was directed here by Karen of Sew Many Ways.
I'm a new follower (by way of Sew Many Ways) and LOVE your snowball quilt. I laughed out loud about the "wanting it back" and now you're glad to have another one waiting to sew. Glad you don't have to be an Indian giver! You did a lovely job on the stippling, btw!
Congrats on your 200th post. I think I'm almost ready to try blogging...maybe. It's kinda scary putting yourself out there but I'm glad you're doing it!
I just found you through facebookk Accuquilt. I love my Go. I have made 4 baby quilts this summer with nine patches and 6" squares. Everyone seems to like them and they are easy. I love your sewing caddy - hope I win.Carol J.
I recently retired from our public library. My husband had this strange idea that I would be staying home! I quilt with three bee's and attend weekend sewathons at my LQS. I love retirement.
Am a new follower, but have enjoyed what I've read so far. Love the Abbey Bag, and hope I win it, as I have two sewing machines and a serger - and they each need one of these, especially the serger. I think it's really cute.
Am enjoying your blog, and seriously considering starting one of my own...I guess I'm afraid it'll take too much time away from my sewing/quilting time to keep something up like this. I sure do admire you for keeping yours active, though!
nice little pin cushion would love to win.
Hello Elizabeth, Love the blog... keep it up! Lorelei Y.
Oh and this is so much cuter than my tomato.
Congratulations! Love your blog. Would love to put the Abbey pincushion to work in my sewing room. One of my favorite quilting projects.... hmmm... they are all my favorites :) The t-shirt quilt I made for our school has to be one of my favorites. Greetings from Estonia
My favorite project is the one Im currently working on because it is my first. I haven't found the time to baste, quilt and bind, but I will soon!! It's for a family friend who shares the same bday as my son!! Speaking of son, would you like to know how me and his daddy got engaged? Of course, I had to do it because I do everything :-) so, not sure what day it was, but he came home from work and the baby was laying on his boppy with the front of his onsie saying, "Daddy I think it's time" and on the back it said, "For you to marry Mommy" and his ring was attached with a ribbon...Thanks for the awesome giveaway!! Have a great day!!
I just completed my first baby quilt (will be a donation since there are no babies in my circle). I loved working with the bright fabrics and am sure it will be the first of many. Thank you for the chance to win the lovely pincushion and thread catcher! Congratulations on 200!!
Beautiful pincushion, it'd look great in my craft room :)

Am working on all UFO's this week. It's so hot, company has just left, have people sealing our deck, potty training the 2 year old, I NEED a little time to not have a deadline. I feel like I'm getting more done this week, than if a deadline hangs over my head. I want to keep this feeling and make it last to Dec 24th!

Congrats on your blog-aversary. I just love Abbey Bags. I have been so tempted to buy the pattern. Do you think they are tricky to make? Thanks so much for the chance to win, your blog is very inspiring.
I love the quotes on that fabric!=) It reminds me of some of the magnets I have on the fridge. One of them says "I'm sorry, you must be confusing me with the maid we don't have". Thanks for the opportunity to win such an adorable prize.
